What better time it is to bring back to memory the exploits of the retired Colombia national goalkeeper, Rene Higuita who stunned the world with his scorpion kick from the goal 22 years ago. He earned the name “El Loco” for his sweeping flair in the post. He was quite a personality with his long curly hair. His trade- mark hair was nothing compared to that of Chelsea’s David Luiz; quite longer.
In a friendly encounter against England at the Wembley Stadium on 6th September, 1995, Higuita went for glory with a scorpion kick to sweep a strike out of his net. He went about it in a well calculated manner and he sure might have practiced it several times to get it done so perfect. He actually could have been a good footballer with his dribbles and ball control skills.

He played along great figures such as Roger Mila of Cameroon in the 1990 World Cup, and with Brazilian legend, Ronaldinho in theVincente Calderon Stadium farewell match on 29th May, 2017.
