On International duty at Belgium, the 2 times Chelsea Player of the Year, Eden Hazard was interviewed by HLN on his future at Chelsea and speculations about a Real Madrid move but the star shared his excitement about working with his coach, Antonio Conte and cracked open on why he won’t move to Real Madrid.
“If I would ever join Real Madrid, I could end up on the bench too. I just want the best solution for me” Eden Hazard told HLN’s Neil Poissmnier. Zidane starting Gareth Bale [who was injury prone] ahead of Isco was a big gamble and Eden Hazard doesn’t want to be the next casualty at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
He’s seen players warming the bench at Chelsea, including his younger brother Thorgan Hazard and as a player who wants to win big leagues, that’s not an ideal position to be in. He wants to play regularly and feature for his country as well.
“It could be Spain, it could be staying with Chelsea. I’m good were I am now. I think I can stay at Chelsea for many years but it’s not something I’m thinking about right now. we’ll see… When I’m on holidays, I only think about enjoying myself. Not about football, not about my future. I just want to spend time with my family and enjoy myself” he added. Chelsea just won the Premier Leaguetitle and are back in the Champions League so it’s easier to focus on Chelsea now since he gets regular playing time.
“If you look at the last seasons, it looks easy for them. The Champions League is a particularly difficult competition to win. Real Madrid were stronger than anyone in the last two to three seasons but that doesn’t mean it’ll be the same in the next 5 years. The Champions League is a goal for me for next season. I’ve never won it and I’m always trying to improve. That’s my goal; always do better. We’ll see where we get”.
Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to win this year’s Ballon D’or after winning the La Liga title and the Champions League title. The Champions League makes a huge claim for him and since Eden Hazard eyes the prestigious award, and winning the Champions League would be good for him.
Eden Hazard joined his National Team after the Premier League season is over but during training he broke his ankle which according to FA would keep him out of play for 3 months. He missed out on their clash against Czech Republic and he will yet again miss out of the next one against Estonia. The Belgium star has undergone a successful surgery and recovering gradually.
