Manchester United coach, Jose Mourinho hinted that midfielder, Paul Pogba who captained the side to their Champions League come back against Basel on 12th September, 2017 would be out for weeks as he limped off the pitch after 18 minutes of play.
“By experience just looking and feeling it, it’s an hamstring; big or small, i don’t know” Mourinho explained during the post match conference.
Pogba might be out for a long while as Mourinho told MUTV about the impact of the injury. “In my experience, muscular injury stops you from playing for a few weeks, I think. It looks for me too [to be an hamstring] but I haven’t yet spoken to the medical department”.
Mourinho however seemed not to be shaken by Pogba’s injury as he believes he has capable replacements “Squad are for this, squads are for injuries, squads are for suspensions. We don’t cry with injuries. So if no Paul for Sunday, we have [Ander] Herrera, we have [Michael] Carrick, we have Fellaini and we have [Nemanja] Matic”.
Paul Pogba played only 18 minutes of their first Champions League against FC Basel on 12th September, 2017 at the Old Trafford after picking an injury suspected to be an hamstring. He was immediately replaced by Marouane Fellaini who immediately imparted the game with an opener.
Jose Mourinho grabbed 3 goals, 3 points and a clean sheet against Basel with goals from Marouane Fellani (35′) , Romelu Lukaku (53′) and Marcus Rashford (84′). Manchester United will play Everton next in the English Premier League on Sunday, 17th September, 2017 at the Old Trafford .
