Manchester United and Everton have agreed to a £75 million transfer fee for Romelu Lukaku which would see them end their pursuit of Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata, BBC Sports reported . The Belgium international scored 25 goals last season and the deal would see him re-unite with his former boss, Jose Mourinho who sold him to Everton during his second stint at Chelsea.
Manchester United coach, Jose Mourinho after revealing that he has handed over his transfer targets to the clubs executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward has been frustrated that the club has not done enough signings. Manchester United only has Benfica defender, Victor Lindelof added to their roster with other targets held up by their clubs.
To compete for the Premier League title and the Champions League which they are back in after winning the Europa League Jose Mourinhho wants a forward especially now that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney‘s future are not secured at the Old Trafford.
After Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann snubbed Manchester United, the Reds set their eyes on Chelsea target, Romelu Lukaku. The Everton striker rejected a new contract extension from the club as reports claimed that he wanted a second spell at Chelsea with Antonio Conte already telling Diego Costa that he’s not needed at Chelsea.
If Manchester United successfully sign a deal with Lukaku, Antonio Conte would have to pursue their initial target, Alvaro Morata as a replacement for Diego Costa.
