Michy Batshuayi Hailed By Borussia Dortmund Teammate After Stunning Start To Life In Germany
The Belgian striker has netted three goals in his first two games since his loan move to Dortmund
Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has certainly made an instant impression at Borussia Dortmund following his loan move to the German club.
Having sealed a move away from Stamford Bridge on deadline day, the Belgian striker made it a dream debut for his new club with two goals and an assist in the 3-2 win over Cologne.
It was to get even better at the weekend as well as he scored once again for Dortmund in their 2-0 home win over Hamburg.
The club’s players and fans will no doubt have been upset to lose Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal, yet the arrival of Batshuayi has gone down extremely well with everyone connected to the club.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos, the striker’s new teammate, hailed the 24-year-old when speaking to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport about the new arrival.
“With Pierre (Aubameyang), we had a good rapport,” said the Greek centre-back. “We’ll always be friends, but it was his destiny to leave.
“I must say that Michy has presented himself really well. And not only with his flips (when he scores): he knows how to score and his desire to make the World Cup with Belgium can give us a nice boost.”
While the German side would like to sign the player on a permanent deal at the end of the campaign, it looks highly unlikely that it will come to fruition.
