"..No one or whatever you write can get in the way of that..: Chelsea defender, John Terry is determined to ignore all the backlash concerning his SEND OFF.
John Terry started in Chelsea’s 5-1 victory over Sunderland and came off the pitch in the 26th minute to correspond with his jersey number.
The game was stopped at the 26th minute and the Chelsea captain received a grand send off from the club as the players gave him a guard of honor, but many people have called the action “too much” and selfish of the player to want to satisfy his own ego without acknowledging the importance of the match.
“Really, I couldn’t care less. All I care about is celebrating with my Chelsea fans. Me and them have an unbelievable rapport and we have for 22 years. No one- whatever you write, or whatever someone says, or someone’s opinion- can ever get in the way of that.” John Terry lashed back at the critics.
Chelsea sought the consent of David Moyes, the Sunderland Coach and other officials to stop the game in that manner and they obliged. What more could David Moyes want from a match that has no importance to his future. Sunderland has been relegated to the Champions and even if they scored 7 goals like Tottenham did against Hull City, it was not going to bring them back into the Premier League.

“If that was the way I wanted to go out, that’s the way I go out because I have been here for 22 years. I’ve won so many trophies so if I wanted to play one minute and come off, I would have done that” he added. He has been heavily criticized for wanting to come off the pitch in that style and and everything concerning it but he “cares less” about anything.

John Terry is training with the team ahead of their FA Cup Finals clash against Arsenal on 27th May and he wouldn’t mind if the club intend to do another send of after the match.
“I wanted to play 26 minutes because the shirt number means a lot to me and the supporters so long as they are happy. I was over the moon with the reception…I was so emotional after the game, I was in bits”. After the grand send off and guard of honor, will Chelsea retire John Terry’s number?
