Among the 7 players shortlisted for the Premier League player of the month of September award, Tottenham’s Harry Kane was voted the winner.
In contention for the award were Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and Kevin DeBruyne, Pascal Gross of Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle’s Jamaal Lascelles, Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata.
Harry Kane was unable to break his August goal-drought curse, but as the month of September began, he took every chance to join the Golden Boot race by scoring 6 goals in 4 games in the month of September. The 2 times Golden Boot award winner expressed his joy for winning the award.
Also voted as coach of the month of September is Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola. Guardiola has guided City to 6 wins and 1 draw in 7 Premier League games. In the month of September he had 4 game wins, no draw and loses with 17 goal difference and no goal away.
The former Barcelona coach was voted ahead of Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho, Tottenham Hotspurs’ Mauricio Pochettino and Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger. Manchester City sit top of the table with 19 points and will host Stoke City at the Ethiad Stadium on 14th October, 2017.
